Monique Kelley
Professor, Consultant, and Author
Monique Kelley Consulting, LLC
Monique Kelley is a trusted, purpose-driven professor (Boston University), consultant and author who serves in a fractional (interim) capacity for Fortune 50 and global biopharmaceutical companies seeking a strategic corporate, product or executive communications head who advances business objectives and alleviates their headaches.
She currently provides strategic communications for executives, including two presidents of prominent commercial divisions within Fortune 50/100 companies ($379-392B USD market caps). For another global corporation, Monique recently helped establish the foundation for a new role leading internal and exec comms for a cross-functional oncology business. Despite it being a part-time role, Monique’s strong performance enabled Comms to delay hiring an FTE and, instead, expand her original contract from 9 to 27 months, demonstrating the value and trust that her clients have in her.
She is uniquely positioned to understand and address client challenges first-hand having held broad senior roles, including overseeing internal and external comms for the U.S. Chief Operating Officer at Takeda Pharmaceuticals and two business units simultaneously and serving as a Client Experience Lead/SVP at top agency, Weber Shandwick.
Monique has rare end-to-end product marcomms experience (from R&D to product loss of exclusivity) combined with corporate comms (internal comms, employee comms and change management, C-suite executive visibility and LinkedIn content/storytelling) gained from supporting six of the top 10 global pharma companies, as well as five leading Japanese-based pharma companies, all that provide innovation and support for people with serious medical conditions.
She is passionate about “showing up” for her network; 100% of her client business is secured through relationships and referrals (no advertising). As such, Monique contracted with a publishing company to write a book helping others unlock the power of relationship-based networking too.
Monique has won numerous industry awards for her leadership and work and has served as a judge for them as well. She is also a Founding Member for women C-suite and executive community CHIEF. Monique has also been featured in Reuters, Fullintel’s “Trust in Pharma” research and many global podcasts.
A former NCAA Division I track runner (1500-meters) and proud daughter of a Mr. USA and two-time Mr. NJ in bodybuilding, Monique enjoys running and strength training.
