Media Minds Roundtable
Our Media Minds group leads T2B’s media relations programming by leveraging member expertise to strengthen journalist relationships and address the evolving needs of reporters covering our industry. We aim to foster a more cohesive communicator ecosystem across life sciences, shaping the future of healthcare storytelling.
Roundtable objectives
- Conceptualize and develop quarterly press panel ideas and create outreach lists.
- Identify targets for monthly Biopharma Beats Bulletins (media Q&As), with opportunity to provide input on questions and potentially sit in on the interviews.
- Develop media invite lists for specific T2Bmeets.
- As needed, leverage professional connections to engage reporters in T2B events and programming.
- Suggest updates and/or new programming ideas focused on media relations.

About the chair
Betsy Yates, Senior Director, Media Relations and Corporate Communications, Complete Genomics
Betsy has worked in healthcare communications for 20 years, specializing in strategic communications, media relations, crisis communications and reputation management for healthcare and technology companies. After a stint as an education reporter, she led PR and communications at a hospital system, a federal contractor for the Department of Health and Human Services, as well as at health tech and biotech startups. Agency-side, as SVP of Health Tech Media at Edelman, she advised national health tech clients including Google Health, YouTube Health and Roche. At Complete Genomics, she manages internal and external communications as well as government relations.
Originally from Appalachian Ohio, after living in Phoenix, Boston and Pittsburgh, she recently returned to Savannah with her husband, son and two extremely loud huskies.
