With nearly 30 years of healthcare communications experience, Erica Bersin has represented brands across a broad range of therapeutic areas, including oncology, neurology, cardiovascular, dermatology, radiology, and gastroenterology throughout the product lifecycle (preclinical to launch and beyond). As well, Ms. Bersin has served in various positions in agency, in-house pharma, contract research organizations, and academic medical centers.
In 2017 Ms. Bersin founded ERO Health Communications, a healthcare communications consultancy focusing on strategic and tactical development and implementation, project management, and operations. Prior to establishing ERO Health, Erica was head of subject recruitment and communications for the Joint Clinical Trials Office of Weill Cornell Medicine/NewYork-Presbyterian.
Erica was also an International Communications Manager at Roche’s headquarters in Basel, Switzerland overseeing global programs for Avastin, a flagship oncology brand. In addition, Erica has held various senior-level positions (U.S. and global oversight) across healthcare communications agencies, including MSL, Edelman, Fleishman-Hillard, and MMG. During her tenure at these companies, she participated in and provided strategic counsel for new business development, project management, and tactical implementation, as well as liaising with advocacy groups globally.
Most recently Erica has worked as a consultant with pharmaceutical companies on communications projects across diseases areas and business insights & analytics. Previously she served a consultant director of patient engagement for Syneos Health, a full-service contract research organization overseeing patient engagement strategy and tactics for five phase three global research studies in early alzheimer’s, and asthma. In addition, she has provided pro bono counsel to the NYU School of Population Health, as well as the Weill Cornell Cancer Center amongst other organizations. She is also a board-certified patient advocate.
In her personal time, Ms. Bersin volunteers with Defend Public Health, Markers for Democracy, other grassroots groups around NYC, and loves seeing live music and traveling. Additionally, in 2009, while living in Switzerland, Erica was diagnosed with relapsing multiple sclerosis.
