September 2026 Comm Convo: Beyond the Binder in the Era of Constant Crisis

Each step of Stephen’s 15-year career converged at ARM in his role of Vice President of Communications: A journalist covering politics and state legislatures; a business development professional advising companies on how to navigate geopolitical risk; a pharma and biotech industry consultant; a graduate of journalism and public policy programs.

At ARM, Stephen serves as global media spokesperson and social media strategist and contributes to ARM’s policy and advocacy objectives in Washington, state capitals, and Brussels. He breaks down complex science for the public and policymakers and explains why policies need to change to ensure that patients can benefit from the groundbreaking advancements of ARM’s members.

Stephen thought he left science behind after muddling his way through AP Chemistry in high school. He’s glad he was wrong.

Adam is a Managing Director in Narrative’s New York office. In this role, Adam counsels a wide range of clients across the healthcare sector, with a focus on pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

Adam brings nearly two decades of agency experience in healthcare communications, public relations, and thought leadership. He joins Narrative from Scient Public Relations, where he served as Head of Media Relations & Thought Leadership, advising C-suite leaders and corporate affairs teams on corporate reputation, media strategy, and complex scientific communications. Earlier in his career, Adam held roles of increasing seniority at Edelman and Fleishman Hillard, advising pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies ranging from startups to Fortune 500 organizations.

His work spans companies’ most critical moments, including clinical data, regulatory milestones, executive transitions, and sensitive corporate issues. Over the course of his career, Adam has helped executives build lasting relationships with the journalists covering their companies and industries. He operates as a trusted, embedded partner to executive and R&D leadership teams, as well as the reporters who cover their organizations. He takes a modern approach to media relations that incorporates AI/LLMs into message development and measurement, media strategy, and executive communications.

Adam is a lifelong, mostly hopeless fan of the New York Mets. He lives in New Jersey with his wife, daughter, and son. Adam earned his B.A. from the University of Delaware.
