Ticket to Biotech LLC (“T2B”, “we”, “us”) is a membership association for professionals who work in the field of Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals, and Life Sciences. We take your privacy very seriously. Please read this privacy policy carefully, as it contains important information on who we are and our information practices, meaning how and why we collect, use, disclose, sell, share, store, and retain your personal information. It also explains your rights in relation to your personal information and how to contact us or supervisory authorities in the event you have a complaint or request.

Information We Collect About You.

Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data). We collect, use, store, and transfer the following membership information:

Membership Information.

    • Your name, your employer’s name, and your work address (including your country location).
    • Your preferred email address, mailing address, and phone number.
    • Additional profile information (such as information about your educational background, number of years in the life sciences industry, and related personal data).
    • Membership and information for our Membership Directory, which is available to other T2B members on the Website.
    • We process your personal information for membership administration, to deliver member benefits to you, and to inform you of T2B-related events, content, and other benefits or opportunities associated with your T2B membership. T2B may also use this information to help T2B understand our members’ needs and interests to better tailor our products and services to meet your needs.
    • We may collect and use the following personal information about its members and other customers.

Events. We collect personal information for live in-person, online events, and conferences throughout the year.

    • If you register for an event, we will use your account information to provide you with information and services associated with the event. You may be asked to provide more information when signing up for an event than is found in your T2B profile (e.g., whether it’s your first T2B event, your meal preferences, and some information about your title and industry).
    • T2B uses the information provided by attendees to provide them with event services.
    • We also use the information for billing purposes.
    • We de-identify the information collected from attendees after the event and use de-identified information to review outcomes and plan for future events.
    • By presenting at or attending our events, we may collect your name, employer, contact information, photograph, video, and attendee evaluations of your performance. In some cases, we may also record and store your voice and likeness. We may use your photograph and video recording in T2B marketing materials such as emails, social media posts, and our website.
    • We keep a record of your participation in T2B events as an attendee or presenter to assist our understanding of your needs and interests to better tailor our products and services. Digital replays of online events are available to members via their online accounts.
    • By registering for an event, you agree to opt-in to appear on an attendee list that may be shared with sponsors, exhibitors, and other attendees. You also agree to opt-in to receive email advertising from sponsors/exhibitors.
    • Exhibitors at T2B events may wish to scan your badge so they can contact you with more information.

Web Conferences. T2B offers several web conferences throughout the year.

    • Many of the web conferences are free, depending on whether you are a T2B Pro member or T2B Basic member.
    • T2B also offers web conferences that are co-sponsored by T2B and its corporate partners. This means that when you register for a co-sponsored, live web conference, you will be providing your registration information to both T2B and the applicable co-sponsor.
    • All T2B web conference co-sponsors must agree to follow applicable privacy and data protection laws. Recorded web conferences may be accessed without providing information to the co-sponsor.

Publications & Newsletters. We subscribe to news feeds and blogs produced by others, which we often link to from our website and within our newsletters. T2B is not responsible or liable for content provided by these third-party websites or personal information they may happen to gather from you.

    • By requesting to join T2B as a Basic or Pro member, you agree to receive T2B newsletters by email, which may be considered direct marketing. You may unsubscribe at any time to newsletter subscriptions as well as marketing messages.
    • T2B from time to time sends research surveys to email subscribers. By subscribing to T2B’s email updates, you agree to receive these survey requests occasionally. You are under no obligation to take the surveys.
    • T2B uses third-party service providers to manage our subscriptions. Services like this are necessary because it helps us send emails, manage subscribe/unsubscribe features, and improve the effectiveness of our emailing services. Emails contains a unique link to a transparent image which is loaded when the email is opened. We track the requests to download this hosted image. When you click on a hyperlink in the email, the unique redirect URL will reach our service for tracking and then immediately forward you to the target destination. T2B uses this information to better understand what information is of interest to its subscribers so it can produce more of that information for them. These third-party services do not use or sell this information.
    • As noted above, you may manage your T2B subscriptions by subscribing or unsubscribing at any time. Please note that if you have set your browser to block cookies, this may have an impact on your ability to unsubscribe. Web and Digital Analytics. We use Google Analytics to track how often people gain access to or read our content. Payment and Purchase Information. You may choose to purchase goods or services from T2B using a payment card. Typically, payment card information is provided by you through the Website, into the PCI/DSS-compliant payment processing service. T2B does not, itself, process or store the card information. T2B’s ecommerce system collects billing information to fulfill customer orders. T2B relies on the legitimate interest basis for processing this personal data.

Direct interactions. You may give us information about you by filling in forms or by corresponding with us by phone, email or otherwise. This includes information you provide when you create an account, subscribe to our service, place an order, participate in discussion boards or other social media functions on our Website, enter a competition, promotion or survey, call our customer service number, and when you report a problem with our Website.

Automated technologies or interactions. As you interact with our Website, we may automatically collect technical data about your equipment, browsing actions and patterns as specified above. We collect this information by using cookies, and other similar technologies. Please see our Cookie Policy.

Third parties or publicly available sources. We may receive information about you from third parties including, for example, business partners, sub-contractors in technical, payment and delivery services, advertising networks, analytics providers, search information providers, credit reference agencies, data brokers, or aggregators.

User contributions. You also may provide information for us to publish or display (“post”) on public Website areas or transmit to other Website users or third parties (collectively, “User Contributions”). You submit User Contributions for posting and transmission to others at your own risk. Please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. Additionally, we cannot control the actions of any Website users with whom you choose to share your User Contributions. Service providers. We routinely share personal information with:

    • Service providers that we use to deliver our products and/or services to you, such as payment service providers, event venues, mailing houses, and hosting services
    • Other third parties we use to help us run our business, such as marketing agencies or website hosts
    • Third parties approved by you, including collaboration platforms and social media sites you choose to link your account to or third-party payment providers

    • T2B partners and sponsors

Contracts with Service Providers. We only allow our service providers to handle your personal information if we are satisfied that they take appropriate measures to protect your personal information. We also impose contractual obligations on service providers relating to ensure they can only use your personal information to provide services to us and to you. We may also share personal information with external auditors, e.g., in relation to ISO.

Change Control. We may also need to share some personal information with other parties, such as potential buyers of some or all of our business or during a re-structuring. Tracking Technologies and Advertising. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of this site may then be inaccessible or not function properly.

Disclosure of Your Information for Third-Party Advertising. If you do not want us to share your personal information with unaffiliated or non-agent third parties for promotional purposes, you can opt-out by emailing us at admin@tickettobiotech.com; however, if you decide to opt-out, you will not be able to attend any sponsored events.

Promotional Offers from the T2B. If you do not wish to have your email address used by T2B to promote our own or third parties’ products or services, you can opt-out by emailing us directly at admin@tickettobiotech.com or you may opt-out of email marketing via the “unsubscribe” button in any of our email updates.

Targeted Advertising. If you do not want us to use information that we collect or that you provide to us to deliver advertisements according to our advertisers’ target-audience preferences, you can opt-out by emailing us at admin@tickettobiotech.com. For this opt-out to function, you must have your browser set to accept all browser cookies.

We do not control third parties’ collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising. However these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. You can opt out of receiving targeted ads from members of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI“) on the NAI’s website.

    • Please note that you may only make a data access or data portability disclosure request twice within a 12-month period.
    • If you choose to contact us directly by email or telephone, you will need to provide us with:
      • Enough information to identify you (e.g., your full name, address and customer or matter reference number)
      • A description of what right you want to exercise and the information to which your request relates
    • We are not obligated to make a data access or data portability disclosure if we cannot verify that the person making the request is the person about whom we collected information or is someone authorized to act on such person’s behalf.
    • Any personal information we collect from you to verify your identity in connection with you request will be used solely for the purposes of verification.

Accessing and Correcting Your Information

You can review and change your personal information by logging into the Website and visiting your account profile page.

You may also send us an email at admin@tickettobiotech.com to request access to, correct, or delete any personal information that you have provided to us. We cannot delete your personal information except by also deleting your user account. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

If you delete your User Contributions from the Website, copies of your User Contributions may remain viewable in cached and archived pages, or might have been copied or stored by other Website users. Proper access and use of information provided on the Website, including User Contributions, is governed by our Terms of Service.

Your State Privacy Rights

State consumer privacy laws may provide their residents with additional rights regarding our use of their personal information.

California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) permits users of our App that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Other States. Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Montana, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia provide (now or in the future) their state residents with rights to:

Transferring Personal Data to the U.S.

The T2B has its headquarters in the United States. Information we collect about you will be processed in the United States. By using the T2B’s services, you acknowledge that your personal information will be processed in the United States and, depending on the circumstances, that may involve a transfer of your information to the United States. The T2B provides safeguards by entering binding, standard data protection clauses where appropriate for the data subjects’ location. The T2B also enters into data processing agreements and model clauses with its suppliers whenever feasible and appropriate. Since it was founded in 2023, T2B has received zero government requests for information.

European Economic Area (EEA) Data Subjects: Promotional Communications

When we offer goods and services to individuals in the EEA, we are subject to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR), which applies across the entire European Union.

  • We may use your personal information to send you updates (by email, text message, telephone, or post) about our services, including exclusive offers, promotions or new services.
  • We have a legitimate interest in processing your personal information for promotional purposes. This means we do not usually need your consent to send you promotional communications. However, where consent is needed, we will ask for this consent separately and clearly.

We also have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. Membership is contingent of these data practices. If you choose to opt- out of receiving advertisements, your Membership (as defined under the TOS) will be terminated.

    • Enable solely internal uses that are reasonably aligned with your expectations based on your relationship with us
    • Comply with an existing legal obligation –or–
    • Otherwise use your personal information, internally, in a lawful manner that is compatible with the context in which you provided the information

Right of Correction

If we maintain inaccurate personal information about you, you have the right to request us to correct that inaccurate personal information. Upon receipt of a verifiable request from you, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to correct the inaccurate personal information.
